Plasma-Punch Advantages Now Available
For Manufacturers Needing Longer Parts

Whitney’s largest plasma-punch combination fabricating center – the 4400 MAX – is now available with a 2’ increased width to accommodate 10’ wide plate.

"Our customers have been asking for this ten foot wide version," says Al Julian, Vice President of Marketing for Whitney. "The additional two foot width on the 4400 MAX provides the plasma-punch advantages of speed, accuracy and low operating cost for our customers who produce larger parts."

Manufacturers of rock-crushing and mining equipment are examples of companies welcoming the machine expansion. Positioning area on the larger 4400 MAX is 120" x 170" or 120" x 270". Retractable work clamps eliminate work clamp avoidance zones allowing for efficient plate utilization.

The 10’ wide 4400 MAX processes:
  • 1" x 6’ x 20’ steel – 4,900 lbs.
  • 3/4" x 8’ x 20’ steel – 4,900 lbs.
  • Longer plates in certain application

The 4400 MAX 10’ plasma-punch is the least expensive alternative to producing fabricated parts from plate. The speed of punching and forming with 70 tons of hydraulic power combines with the speed of plasma cutting for outlining parts.
